Make a Statement Without Saying a Word.

Whether you take 20 seconds or 20 minutes to choose an outfit, the clothes you put on everyday send a message to the world about who you are.

I’ve always loved fashion, and not just for the final product.

I love the story behind pieces, understanding how and where things were made and the cultural inspirations used to develop clothing lines and brands.

Because of this, I’ve never categorized my style.

It’s not exclusively grungy, girly, preppy, or anything in between.

I don’t wanna be put in a box like that, and feel restricted to only shop in certain stores or wear certain things based on my ‘usual style’.

I dress according to my mood, the occasion, the weather, my makeup look, the color of my hair at the time… or whatever catches my eye when I go into my closet.

But not having one definite style does have its downfalls…

It requires A LOT of clothes.

Which may not seem like a bad thing, but I’m conscious of making more sustainable choices in my clothing, and making the most of the beautiful pieces I already own.

So instead of buying something new for every occasion, I choose a classic outfit and style it according to the look I’m feelin’ that day.

Like this...

I wanted to go for a comfortable, wearable outfit that would also look chic and appropriate for a dinner date.

So I stuck with monochrome, tucked my sweater in to give my silhouette more of a defined shape…

And looked out my baby Dior.

This could’ve been a totally different look - I could’ve rolled up the cuff of my trousers, untucked my sweater, pulled my hair tight back into a ponytail and swapped my handbag for a backpack.

That would’ve given more preppy, day-time look. Which will be great for another outfit, but wasn’t the look I was going for.

By having versatile pieces in my wardrobe, I have the flexibility to mix and match to make totally different outfits by swapping out the accessories.

Whether it’s a bag, jewelry, a hat or some shades…

Accessories can really set the tone of your whole outfit.

Now I’ll be honest - I love designer handbags. I believe making the investment into higher ticket items is always worth it for the quality and longevity of the item.

But nothing in your wardrobe has to cost the earth. Look for end of season sales, small boutiques, or pre-loved options to find high quality, stand-out accessories.

Look for color, glamour, and spice when you’re shopping…

And challenge yourself to come up with 5 different looks for anything before you buy it. If you can’t, chances are you’ll wear it once then shove it to the back of your closet.

Here’s some of my favorite key accessories in my wardrobe that I know I’ll wear time and time again.

Time to step out of your comfort zone and find your own key pieces.

Strength in Style,

Stefi
